The purpose of this project was to provide enough instruments so that each student can have their own guitar during our guitar unit in our 8th grade music classes, as well as provide instruments for after-school clubs. In previous years, we've only been able to do small stations or instrument \"petting zoos\", but haven't been able to dive deeper into learning chords or TAB, which many of my students wanted to do.\r\n\r\nWe have started our guitar unit in 8th grade and so far, they are loving it! They were so excited when I told them that not only are we doing a guitar unit, but they each get their OWN instrument to use during class. It makes such a difference for each student to have their own instrument. Not only do their playing techniques develop much faster, but my students have a sense of ownership and care over their instrument. I can already see how careful and intentional they are when using the guitars. \r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, I will be able to teach my students guitar this year and in years to come. The majority of my students have the desire to learn an instrument, but are not able to afford their own instrument or lessons outside of school. Having these guitars gives me the ability to give back to my students in this small way. I would not have been able to do this without you and your kindness. Thank you for helping me make a difference in my students' lives.","fullyFundedDate":1746786381438,"projectUrl":"project/guitars-galore/9066238/","projectTitle":"Guitars Galore!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8085058_orig.jpg?crop=1015,1016,x0,y71&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723923403999","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msfine-music"},{"teacherId":1423364,"projectId":9120499,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! Because of you, our students now have access to exciting recess equipment, including chalk, hula hoops, balls, jump ropes, and games. From the very first day we brought these materials out, the playground came alive with joy and energy. Students were eager to try everything—some challenged themselves to master jump rope tricks, while others worked together to invent new ball games or create colorful chalk designs. It was amazing to see their creativity, teamwork, and laughter fill the space.\r\n\r\nThese resources are doing so much more than just keeping students active. They are helping my class build problem-solving skills, practice cooperation, and strengthen friendships during play. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students design an obstacle course with the hula hoops and jump ropes. They cheered one another on and made sure every child had a role to play. It was a wonderful reminder of how the right tools can transform recess into a time of growth, inclusion, and fun.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students will continue using this equipment to explore new games and practice healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Thanks to your kindness, recess is now a meaningful extension of our learning day, giving children the chance to stay active, build confidence, and connect with their peers. This has sparked interest in other students as well. This club is a place where they can freely express these difficult topics and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers. This has made a difference for them. They express how happy they are that they have this time to not only read this book but given the time to have this conversations about the book/experiences. \r\n\r\nI love to observe their excitement to attend these book club meetings and to see the students be engaged in what another student is talking about. They are building these skills of empathy not only for the characters in the book but if a student shares something that is personal, they build not only trust but an understanding for one another. The students who have might have been shy or did not feel comfortable at school are now finding their place in this book Club. \r\n\r\nThis book club is sparking new ideas of how to incorporate reading school wide, and new love of reading experiences. We are in the process of hopefully taking a field trip to Barnes and Noble, where the students can pick a book of their choose. The students would like to start a fundraiser for this, which is so wonderful to see them so motivated. This is all thanks to donors like you, who give these students the opportunity.
