We are at a small Charter school in Southern California. Many of my students face challenges, economic or otherwise, but they all show up ready to learn. They enjoy reading, but many of them lack the knowledge and vocabulary of non-fiction text that the Common Core State Standards demand. In addition, my class does not contain appropriate books for the young learners to read and build the background of these real-life heroes, events, and etc. They will enjoy reading books and exploring the world through these texts.

About my class
