This project allows students to feel excited about math, to be motivated to learn and to go above and beyond with their effort.\r\n\r\nMath isn't a subject that everyone loves. Students will tell me that math is their least favorite subject or that math has always been difficult for them. By the end of the year, I know students like math a little bit more. I have even had some students tell me that math is now their favorite subject.\r\n\r\nBecause this project allows students to earn classroom money by completing their assignments and doing more than what is expected, I have seen an increase in participation and effort. More students are completing their work so they earn an assignment bonus so they can purchase more items from the classroom store.\r\n\r\nHaving my classroom store allows me to build deeper connections and relationships with students.
