They use the donated items just about every day! They really like to sit in the reading corner on their new cushions and read peacefully and without conflict since they all have their own seat cushion. They also can't wait to build towers and castles with the STEM magnetic building tiles. There is no limit to what their minds can create with this project! The play-doh was a wonderful addition as well. The students really enjoy this addition. They often comment that forming things with play-doh helps to calm them down and relieve stress from the day. Not to mention sharpen their creativity skills as well. \r\nThank you again from the bottom of our hearts for these donated items. My students have been using the materials daily during small group instruction, hands-on learning centers, and even in our calming station. The calming station, in particular, has made a meaningful difference—students are able to use it to regulate their emotions and take a moment when needed, returning to their learning ready and focused.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment that stands out was during a lesson when a student independently chose to use the calming station, took the time they needed, and then came back ready to fully participate. That same student was able to successfully complete their work and even share their thinking with the class. Moments like this show just how impactful these resources have been.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. They were eager to explore and immediately engaged. What stood out most was the sense of ownership they felt—they take pride in using and caring for the materials because they know they are there to support them.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are continuing to build on this growth. Our next steps include helping students become even more independent in recognizing their needs, using the calming station appropriately, and applying those self-regulation skills throughout the day. We are also incorporating more student-led activities where they can confidently engage in learning after taking the time they need to reset.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact—not just academically, but emotionally as well. Thank you for helping create a classroom where students feel supported, capable, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1758210271144,"projectUrl":"project/a-safe-space-to-breathe-and-grow/9426073/","projectTitle":"A Safe Space to Breathe and Grow","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10054839_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753109450875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10054839"},{"teacherId":9993608,"projectId":10055947,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students are now able to engage with math in a more hands-on and meaningful way. Here's what's happening.\r\n Dot Markers have transformed our art studio into a space of pure exploration. We've been creating Wassily Kandinsky-inspired abstract art projects, where students use the vibrant dot markers to mix colors directly on paper—discovering how blue + yellow = green and red + yellow = orange through hands-on play. It's color theory come to life!\r\nClay has become our favorite material for building confidence and fine motor skills. Students are sculpting shapes, forms, and adorable animals—from simple balls and snakes to recognizable creatures like cats, dogs, and butterflies.\r\n When we first opened the materials, the room erupted in excitement. My students immediately grabbed the dot markers and started making patterns. One little one said, \"Look! I'm making rainbow art!\"\r\n\r\n The clay was even more thrilling—hands went straight into the materials, and within seconds, students were rolling, squishing, and shaping. A kindergartener proudly announced, *\"I made a snake as long as my arm!\" and a 1st grader carefully crafted a detailed butterfly, showing it off to everyone in the room.\r\nThe confidence boost was immediate. My Students who sometimes hesitate during art felt empowered to create without pressure—there's something about these materials that says, \"Your creation is perfect just as it is.\"\r\n\r\n Thank you for believing in sensory learning and creative expression.
