I recently started after school tutoring that I typically use my kidney table for. My students are loving the new stools and have mentioned to me how much they love having a flexible seating option. \r\n\r\nWe have also made a lot of use of the portable whiteboard. We are currently learning how to write an informative text. The students use the whiteboard to reference the sentence frames and high frequency words on this whiteboard. I also use the whiteboard during reteach lessons or small group lessons. The wheels make it easy to move around the room quickly when my students need it.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for contributing to my students' learning and a special shoutout to The Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation.","fullyFundedDate":1762031644282,"projectUrl":"project/engaged-empowered-tools-for-small-gro/9743776/","projectTitle":"Engaged & Empowered: Tools for Small Group Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maravilla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9168373_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758805469153","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9168373"},{"teacherId":5701513,"projectId":9559683,"letterContent":"The instruments we received were a big hit. My students absolutely loved them. Since we've gotten the instruments, the students want to use them all the time. They want to use them with our opening calendar routines as well as phonics and even math time. The instruments have made learning more enjoyable and noisy at the same time. \r\n\r\nI also plan to use the instruments with our upcoming Xmas caroling event. Every year I take my students caroling around the school visiting other classrooms and singing some classic Christmas favorites. The students really enjoy this and it brings music to the classrooms.","fullyFundedDate":1755698455478,"projectUrl":"project/instruments-rock/9559683/","projectTitle":"Instruments Rock!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5701513_orig.jpg?crop=792,792,x288,y1051&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720563162092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5701513"},{"teacherId":5701513,"projectId":9275061,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the dry erase markers. In kindergarten we do writing everyday. In order to not waste paper we do our writing using white boards and dry erase markers. It is very important for my students to express themselves through illustrations and drawings. For my students, writing is not just about words but also telling a story through their pictures. Kindergarteners love using the different colors of dry-erase markers to enhance their stories.\r\nMy kindergarteners simply went bananas as I opened the package of the colorful dry-erase markers. They were so excited to use them. I had to hide them because they kept opening my cupboards searching for the new markers. \r\nWe will be better writers and illustrators because of the colorful dry-erase markers.","fullyFundedDate":1746627702447,"projectUrl":"project/creative-learning/9155945/","projectTitle":"Creative Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5701513_orig.jpg?crop=792,792,x288,y1051&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720563162092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5701513"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126552","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":581,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"27.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.7,"schoolId":126552,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Las Palmas Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Las Palmas Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/twin-rivers-unified-school-district/harmon-johnson-elementary-school/126552"}
