We finally have enough functioning music stands for all the students in our music classes. No longer do some students have to use stands that are falling down, crooked or don't even hold up their music anymore. Everyone is now able to raise their stands to the proper height, helping with posture and watching the conductor. Every stand now holds all the students' music without tipping over in the middle of a song. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the new music cart is fully functional! The wheels don't fall off and it makes it so easy to transport music stands to our various performances. We used to have to transport music stands to the football field with a cart that had a missing wheel. With our new cart, moving stands is a breeze! The stands and cart have made a huge difference in the day to day class experience for all the students.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited to received the new music stands and couldn't wait to put them together right away! Many of them were really enthusiastic about constructing the music stands and met during lunch to put everything together. \r\n\r\nFinally, I believe having functional, working equipment helps focus the students on making music more seriously, rather than worrying about broken stands or feeling like the music department lacks proper music making equipment. From both me and my students, thank you so much for your support!","fullyFundedDate":1757900000085,"projectUrl":"project/harbor-high-school-musicians-need-music/9657700/","projectTitle":"Harbor High School Musicians Need Music Stands!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Baiocchi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9727362_orig.jpg?crop=2482,2482,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756327134852","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9727362"},{"teacherId":8521013,"projectId":9088975,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations, my students now have access to snacks that keep them energized and ready to learn throughout the day! The impact was immediate, students were so grateful when they saw the stocked snack area, and many expressed their appreciation, saying how much it helps them stay focused in class. \r\n\r\nOne student shared that having a snack available helped them get through a long morning without feeling distracted by hunger. Another student who often stays late for tutoring was relieved to have something to eat before continuing their studies. These small moments show just how meaningful your support is in their daily lives. \r\n\r\nMoving forward, I hope to continue providing these resources to ensure no student has to choose between learning and hunger. The new resources we received from this fundraiser have had a huge impact on all of our students. \r\n\r\nMy goal was to provide my students with professional quality music equipment and to give them the opportunity to learn about the types of equipment that can affect their sounds and their performance. We received these materials a few weeks before our winter concert, and my students were instantly inspired. The new reeds and mouthpieces made a big difference in the sound students were able to produce on their instruments, and they were very excited to hear how a more professional reed or mouthpiece could open their sound and make their playing more beautiful. Many students were then inspired to start trying out different mouthpieces and reeds to see how their sound would be affected. The band and students really took a step forward in their musical abilities just from this one fundraiser. Our winter concert was a success - students, audience and me (the teacher) were all inspired by the music making of the student groups that night.\r\n\r\nWe were also able to replace old, falling apart music folders with the new ones ordered in this fundraiser. Students were excited to have a folder that matched everyone else and that could protect their music. On stage, our presentation was uniform and professional with our new music folders.\r\n\r\nThe Perry and Donna Golkin Family Foundation made an especially large donation, and I'd like to extend my gratitude to them. It was wonderful to see all my music students inspired to make music at a higher level! Thank you again for helping to fund this project.","fullyFundedDate":1730947208313,"projectUrl":"project/hhs-musicians-deserve-high-quality-equip/8735468/","projectTitle":"HHS Musicians Deserve High-Quality Equipment!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Baiocchi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9727362_orig.jpg?crop=2482,2482,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756327134852","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9727362"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40086","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1040,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":88.6,"schoolId":40086,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harbor High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harbor High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/santa-cruz-city-school-district/harbor-high-school/40086"}
