The new books introduced engaging stories that sparked meaningful discussions and helped my students strengthen their comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Many of the texts encouraged them to make connections to their own lives and cultures, which made reading more personal and exciting.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading time has become one of the most joyful parts of the day. Students gather in small groups or pairs to read aloud, share their predictions, and discuss characters and themes. We've created a warm reading corner filled with the new books, and it's now a favorite spot where students choose stories that match their interests and reading levels. The variety of genres—fantasy, realistic fiction, and nonfiction—has helped me differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all my readers.\r\n\r\nOne student who used to hesitate to read now eagerly volunteers to read aloud during group time. Another has started bringing books home to share with her family. These moments remind me of the true power of stories and access to quality materials. We immediately started using the materials and the students are loving coming to the ESL room and motivated to give their best work!\r\n\r\nWhen the packages came, we unpacked them together and put together our new living ESL living room. The youngest students squealed with glee when they first entered the room. One kindergartener even spontaneously shouted \"La clase es muy bonita!\" \r\n\r\nThe ESL para and I were talking about how for a few students, the living room really did make a huge difference. Before they didn't always want to come to ESL and do extra work. Now with this cozy space, they beg to come to the ESL room and when it is time for them to leave, they don't want to go!\r\n\r\nOur next steps will be to continue to make the space comfortable by adding 2 bean bag chairs so all students can be in the living room at one time.
