I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support in acquiring essential resources for my classroom. The primary goals for these purchases were to:\r\n\r\nSupport my students in achieving success.\r\nFoster excitement about learning.\r\nStrengthen relationships through items that resonate with their interests.\r\n\r\nThese items you helped me purchase have made a significant impact in my classroom:\r\n\r\nLakeshore Manipulatives Library: These manipulatives have sparked my students' creativity. Recently, a student and I collaborated to build a tower with the fish manipulative. He effectively used his communication skills to guide my hand where he wanted it placed. They also helped illustrate his knowledge of colors as he labeled the fish.\r\n\r\nSensory Swivel Chair: These chairs have positively transformed my classroom environment. They meet my students' sensory needs remarkably well. One student, who often seeks sensory input, finds joy in spinning in the chair, showcasing her happiness and tranquility. They also encourage turn-taking and positive peer interactions. Students share laughter as they spin in their seats next to one another, creating a shared experience. This setup fosters opportunities for students to desire the same thing simultaneously, teaching them to request a turn, wait for their friend to finish, and offer turns to others. These chairs enable me to address many of my students' IEP goals effectively.\r\n\r\nBalance Ball Chair and Donut Ball Chair: These flexible seating options have enhanced my students' engagement during circle time. Allowing them to choose their seating fosters a sense of autonomy while enabling them to participate actively without distracting others.\r\n\r\nTap Tap Sensory Lights: These lights have introduced new ways for my students to interact with classroom materials. During sensory time, I've observed them giggling and learning about cause and effect as they explore different light colors.\r\n\r\nMorning Meeting Book / Social Emotional Book: These books have provided fun and innovative ideas to enhance learning activities. They have helped me modify lessons to teach students about self-awareness and emotional regulation, including the concept of a calm-down toolbox for regulating emotions.\r\n\r\nThank you for your support in enriching my students' learning experiences. Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in their education.","fullyFundedDate":1746496233136,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-our-senses/9318225/","projectTitle":"Learning With Our Senses","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DeJesus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9461036"},{"teacherId":9454515,"projectId":8834028,"letterContent":"I am writing to share the significant impact that sports equipment has had on elementary students, both in terms of their physical development and their overall growth. Over the years, we have seen how access to quality sports gear and equipment contributes to fostering a positive environment for learning and personal development, especially at the elementary school level.\r\n\r\nThe students have been using the equipment for engaging and fun obstacle courses, warm-ups, throwing and catching units, and much more. There is a very diverse population in my school and I teach a program with many students who have autism and intellectual disabilities. These students have responded positively to the bright colors and the visuals of this new equipment. I will continue to use these items for different lessons, field days, and extracurricular rewards. \r\n\r\nFrom improving physical health to fostering critical life skills and building confidence, sports equipment plays a key role in shaping well-rounded, active, and engaged young individuals. I believe that providing our students with the tools they need to succeed, both in and out of the classroom, will help them build the foundation for a healthier, happier future.\r\n\r\nThank you for your support and for recognizing impact that these resources have on our young learners.","fullyFundedDate":1737951116615,"projectUrl":"project/physical-activity-fun/8834028/","projectTitle":"Physical Activity Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Murphy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9454515"},{"teacherId":3548840,"projectId":8621876,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind donation and for making it possible for my students to experience Project Base Learning. I teach a self contained, autism classroom of kindergarten through second grade. Majority of my students are below grade level or have difficulty reaching the regular education curriculum. Thank you so much for supporting my students by donating adaptive materials to help allow them better reach the curriculum and support their learning.\r\n\r\nThe math manipulative have been and absolute huge hit! The counting ice creams are my students absolute favorites! They request to use and play with them in their free, choice time and even occasionally act as a reinforcer for students. They are a great tool to facilitate learning and counting without the students even realizing! The counting links have also been a great addition to our math manipulative in supporting one to one correspondence. The pop it cvc words have also been another huge hit! They get my students excited and willing to learn and practice literacy. They love to be able to use the pop it as they are segmenting their words. The plastic letter manipulative and large crayons have been great adaptive tools as well! \r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my students and their learning by donating adaptive materials for them to reach the curriculum.","fullyFundedDate":1733157095141,"projectUrl":"project/adaptive-learning-materials/8587510/","projectTitle":"Adaptive Learning Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. DeNegris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9345240"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43977","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":456,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":66,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.5,"schoolId":43977,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hanover Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hanover Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/meriden-public-schools/hanover-elementary-school/43977"}
