I have several first graders that have underdeveloped small motor skills. These journals have small groves that hold the tip of the pen and help the students consistently follow the correct motion to write a letter neatly. Over time it has created a muscle memory. Now these students are writing legible letters and words without the need of the groves.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the students that are untilizing the journals have built up their confidence and have a new level of pride in there class work.","fullyFundedDate":1760119701975,"projectUrl":"project/learning-letters-and-their-sounds/9698977/","projectTitle":"Learning Letters and Their Sounds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ohannasian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3458231"},{"teacherId":3458231,"projectId":9190882,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support of our classroom. The resources you supplies have been extremely beneficial to our growth regarding knowledge of the world. The books have helped my first graders develop the skills to read a map key and understand the directions of North, South, East and West. The globe has been useful in social studies when learning map skills as well as science when learning how the Earth moves to create day and night. The maps have been used in our study of birds to mark where the birds we've learned about live. We've plotted birds in South America, Africa, California, New York, and the South Pole. The resources have brought more learning than I had anticipated and we are much smarter because of your support.","fullyFundedDate":1742936799017,"projectUrl":"project/old-school-map-skill/9190882/","projectTitle":"Old School Map Skill","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ohannasian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3458231"},{"teacherId":3458231,"projectId":9184920,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your support. The supplies you've help us acquire have been very helpful in our classroom. Of course, the tissues get used constantly through the day keeping our noses and faces germ free and looking good.
