Each student took responsibility for a plant and kept a garden journal to track growth and make observations. \r\n\r\nThe garden has become more than just a science lesson. It connects to our math activities (measuring growth and tracking data), writing (persuasive letters about expanding our garden), and even social studies (planning a mini farmers' market for the school community).\r\n\r\nCurrently, students are working on proposals to expand our garden into a school-wide project. There, students helped clean out invasive plants, harvested and replanted native crops, and even sorted worms to support composting efforts.
