We are very excited about these additions to our music studies! As we enter the new year, fifth-grade students will learn about the history of the guitar and how to play it through hands-on instruction. Using guitars is new to our curriculum. Having students play an instrument they see at today's concerts and hear in their own music selections is highly motivating for young musicians. What an amazing gift of music.\r\n\r\nWhen the guitars arrived, the students had no idea what was in the boxes. As they opened each box, their excitement was unbelievable. They could not believe they were given this gift and could actually hold the guitars and would soon learn how to play! I have enjoyed my new role as the Social Emotional Teacher. The resources I ordered in August proved beneficial and engaging for all my students. I needed a few more game sets to allow all students to participate.
