These resources are making a meaningful difference in our classrooms by providing students with opportunities to regulate their emotions, improve focus, and engage in learning in ways that best meet their individual needs.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our teachers are incorporating the sensory materials into classroom routines, allowing students to use them during independent work, transitions, and moments when they need a calming break. For example, students can use the materials to help them refocus when they feel overwhelmed, allowing them to return to their learning feeling more comfortable and ready to participate. These simple tools help us create a more supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new materials, they were excited and eager to explore them! We placed the bigger items in the hallway where more students can interact with them. It may have increased the trips to the bathroom and water fountain but they do come back refocused. It is wonderful to see students learning to recognize their needs and use these resources to support their own success.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping us provide the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
