We didn't have to have students wait in the nurse's office for parents to leave work when their student had a bathroom accident. My students went from hating science to asking, \"Can we do science every day so we can discover new things?\"\r\n\r\n Working with the science kits increased their interest in learning. They were intrigued to discover how properties of matter changed. My students conducted an experiment where they poured milk on a plate. They added drops of food color (Red, Blue, and Green), and added dish detergent to the milk. The colors began to turn in the milk like a windmill. My students were so amazed. I know science will not be the same for them from the kits and science experiments. Earlier in February, we worked on a couple of art things for our Black History Month celebration. We highlighted photographers, painters, and poets. For our ELA curriculum, we enhanced our learning by making our own bird drawings through observations of bird videos and bird pictures. They immediately began to share with their peers about what they were reading. My students did reports on their books.
