They could not wait to start scooping, pouring, and exploring. During our first center time with it, the children worked together to fill buckets, make tunnels, and test how water flows through the sand. The laughter and teamwork around the table were wonderful to see.\r\n\r\nWe are using the sensory table every day to build fine motor skills and learn early math and science concepts like measuring, comparing, and observing changes. It has also become a great space for practicing sharing and taking turns. Some of our students especially enjoy the calming feeling of sensory play, which helps them focus and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to connect the table to our classroom studies by adding materials that match our themes. This table will continue to support hands-on learning all year long. Because of you, our classroom now has an amazing Calm Area where students can safely pause, reflect, and regulate their emotions.\r\n\r\nWe have added calming tools, visuals, books, and sensory materials to the cozy cube and Calm Area. Having a place to go and use these tools is helping the children recognize their feelings and use strategies like deep breathing and quiet reflection to calm their bodies. Our students are beginning to use this space independently and then they return to the group more focused and ready to learn and participate. I love knowing that the children now have a safe place where they can go and get away when they feel overwhelmed or need to self regulate. \r\n\r\nYour donation has made a meaningful difference by supporting our Pre-K students' social-emotional growth and creating a classroom where children feel safe, supported, and understood.
