Thank you to everyone who donated to this project for books and more books for our school library. This project focused on mainly books that my students have been requesting to read and a set of books our library was in need of. \r\nSince school began in September I have a list that I have kept of books that my students have requested to have in our school library. The first set we are welcoming into our library is the Percy Jackson collection these have been on my list for the past few years and with the growing number of students who want to read them I figured it was time we try to get a set and thanks to donor choose we now have one. The second is a new cat kid set. Now our library has cat kid to go along with our dog man sets however this past year thanks to donor choose once again I was able to put a set of dog man into our younger students library collection. Well the next thing I heard was Mrs. Simms you forgot Cat Kid. They were right you can't have Dog Man without his sidekick Cat Kid and so I told them I would put it on our wish list and see what happens. Woohoo we got it! I can't wait for them to see them on the shelves. \r\nThe next thing we now have in our library is a set of people and places books of nonfiction so that my students can learn about people around the United States \r\nincluding the way of life in the Northeast, Midwest, West, Southeast and so on. \r\nThank You for helping to add these books to our collection, I know they will be well loved.","fullyFundedDate":1761946708589,"projectUrl":"project/books-and-more-books/9716569/","projectTitle":"Books and More Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Simms","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5218777_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1520878034865","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5218777"},{"teacherId":7071195,"projectId":9506995,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to see all of the new colors of our tempera cakes. This project was a great help because with library lessons forever changing it is much easier for books to be grouped together in different bins for students to locate them more easily and so they are also more readily available to everyone. The students now are able to go over to our library shelves and see all of their favorite books together in the book bins and can grab one and check it our for library circulation. When its time for them to go back on the shelves I can now have students helpers as I just have to say bring my the bin and the books go right back on the shelves with no delay. This makes for very happy students. \r\n\r\nThank you also for the bookmarks that students will be creating to hold their page when they are done reading for the moment. I feel I can never find enough thanks for having so many projects fully funded and especially one's during teacher appreciation week. As a school librarian I don't always get recognized but having these projects funded makes it all worth it. This year my goal was to finally get things perfect or my idea of perfect in our library. This included a new place to hold my paperback books and thus why I order these large colorful containers to hold them. The one's currently are being held together by duct tape I can't wait to move the books around and to get these on the shelves!!! It's going to look amazing! \r\nNext I asked the kiddos which books they would like to see replaced or added to our collection and one big one was the Harry Potter Series ours have to be at least 15 years old and so now we now have a brand new set to be checked out. They also asked for a couple of copies of the latest Wimpy Kid, Hot Mess and so that was added and they also wanted the set of school supplies to go on strike, they promised they aren't going on strike they just love to read them! As the year moves along and books are checked out each week these books take on many battle scars of every day check out from the library. This is one of the reasons I requested book tape and plenty of it. I will use this tape as the band-aids for the book so they can continued be well loved by my students. I also ordered hopefully enough bookmarks to start next September with. With the end of the year approaching quickly I will be holding on to all the bookmarks for September so each student who checks out a book will have one and I will extra throughout the year they can take as needed. These bookmarks will help with no more bunny-ear pages in the corners of our books. Lastly, I ordered book pockets and cards so they can be used in all the new books we just received from other projects that were funded.
