The colorful floor tiles with numbers are very popular. The children enjoy jumping on them to watch the colorful liquid move and change shape. They are light and very durable, making it easy for the children to pick up and carry around the room, changing the arrangement of the tiles on the floor. Some children have been lining the tiles up at the doorway and then using it to line up when it is time to return back to their classroom. \r\n The children have been very engaged with the colorful alien counters. The math table has been set up with a sorting tray, pom poms, the aliens and the pincher tool. The tool is very popular and is helpful for developing hand eye coordination and hand and finger strength. One of the children called the tool a \"portal\" as they moved the alien from the table into the sorting tray. \r\n Other items are engaging the children to work cooperatively with each other. The magnet tiles are being used to build enclosures for the astronaut figurines. As the children build they are using their imagination, adding kitchens and bedrooms to their enclosures turning them into a home where the astronauts can live. \r\n The children, education staff and I have been enjoying these STEAM room enrichments and thank you for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1757519990878,"projectUrl":"project/blast-off-help-fund-our-space-themed-s/9656418/","projectTitle":"Blast Off! Thanks to your generosity, our classroom received an amazing collection of resources including the Link & Go! Magnetic Vehicles, Around Town Play Carpet, I Can Build It!, Little Hands Tool Tote, Community Block Play People, Doctor's Office Set, and an exciting variety of community helper figurines and dress-up clothes.\r\n\r\nWhen the children first saw the new materials, their eyes lit up with joy and curiosity. Many immediately began role-playing as doctors, pilots, police officers, and construction workers, diving into collaborative play with so much excitement. One memorable moment was when two students set up a mini \"city\" using the play carpet, block people, and vehicles—they even created a \"clinic\" using the doctor's office set where other children lined up for checkups!\r\n\r\nThese materials have brought our lessons to life in a way that books alone could not. Students are building their own structures using the \"I Can Build It!\" set and tool tote, dressing up in career costumes, and creating stories using the figurines to act out real-world jobs. It has sparked rich conversations about teamwork, helping others, and what children might want to be when they grow up.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to extend this learning into creating a \"Mini Town\" in our classroom. Each student will choose a role, build part of the town, and work together to simulate a day in the life of a community. The goal is to build empathy, understanding of different roles in society, and language skills through play and storytelling.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving us the tools to make learning so meaningful and joyful. The children were so excited to see the glitters and spinners move around. We've also used positional words like \"up\" and \"down\" when describing the movement, which has helped develop their language skills.\r\nAnother fun project was making playdough birds and eggs using the Cream of Tartar. The children shaped the birds, added googly eyes to bring them to life, and even used food coloring to create different colored birds and eggs. To make the eggs sparkle, they painted them with glitter paint and sprinkled extra glitter on top for a shiny effect.\r\n\r\nThe white paper plates were perfect for exploring ice cubes—watching them move and melt sparked curiosity and great discussion. The hand-shaped silicone food tongs added a fun fine motor challenge as the children used them in the water table to collect different-sized balls and transfer them into baskets. At the easel, the threading lace and beads became a great tool for practicing fine motor skills. The children enjoyed adding beads to the lace while exploring concepts like \"more\" and \"less\" and comparing lengths with \"long\" and \"short.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the sensory fidget tubes, their faces lit up with curiosity! They couldn't wait to touch them and watch the glitter and spinners swirl around. They were equally excited about the googly eyes, laughing as they placed them on their playdough birds and made silly faces. The glitter paint was another favorite, as the children loved making their eggs sparkle. The food tongs brought lots of giggles as they carefully gripped and moved different objects, helping to strengthen their hand muscles.\r\nNext, we're continuing to explore nature and birds! After making the birds and eggs with the playdough, we'll be investigating real bird nests and discussing what makes them special. The children will be able to create their own \"nests\" with the playdough and materials while practicing new vocabulary like \"soft,\" \"rough,\" \"round,\" and \"flat.\" We're also going to incorporate some of the threading lace for fine motor practice, and perhaps add more colors to our playdough for even more creative bird-making with their googly eyes!","fullyFundedDate":1733248905672,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-through-art-a-vi/8606897/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Minds Through Art: A Vision for Creative Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Majella","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8734041"},{"teacherId":4955022,"projectId":8299627,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation .
