I wanted to share how your generous contributions have made a meaningful difference in my classroom. With the new improved lamps, I can now create a comfortable learning environment by controlling the lighting without the hassle of unplugging each day. This small change has already helped my students focus better during lessons.\r\n\r\nThe added storage space has been a game changer! My students love keeping their workbooks in the classroom, which means less to carry and more organization. The rolling cart with drawers ensures that their work stays safe and never gets lost in backpacks or around the room, which has brought a lot of peace of mind to both them and me.\r\n\r\nOne special moment that stands out is during our \"pack pride\" game time. The comfortable new chair I received allows me to better engage with students at my standing desk, making those connections even stronger. The kids look forward to this time to relax and just be kids, which is so important amidst the busy school day.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we're now fully equipped with pencils and materials for our many creative projects, keeping learning fun and hands-on.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are excited to dive deeper into our current projects, using these new resources to enhance their work and collaboration. We are planning to explore more interactive lessons and continue fostering a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness—you truly give my students a wonderful boost in their daily learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1748370789621,"projectUrl":"project/champion-of-the-classroom/9362676/","projectTitle":"Champion of the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10037811_orig.jpg?crop=1975,1975,x900,y295&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747415168674","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10037811"},{"teacherId":9596114,"projectId":8502020,"letterContent":"Because of the Georgia Teachers Initiative, the College Football Playoff Foundation, and amazing educators who nominated me for a Teacher Spotlight, I received a $1000 Donors Choose gift card. I created a project, \"Visualizing Life,\" which was fully funded by this gift card.\r\n\r\nI have implemented some of the models and labs, but because of this generous gift and all that I was able to purchase, there are more lessons to come during the upcoming semester.\r\n\r\nThe color-coded skull models were a huge hit in my Human Anatomy and Physiology classes. Students loved the puzzle-like experience and were able to see what the bones of the inner skull look like. Scores on the skull anatomy were the best I have ever seen and students were so engaged. The muscle models were incredible and allowed students to use the different colors of masking tape to label the muscles. I will keep adding to that collection as I try to obtain more funding so that one day I have enough for a muscle practical. These 3D models provide hands-on learning that is so much more meaningful than a diagram on a worksheet.\r\n\r\nWe will be using the heart models this semester and my AP Bio students will be conducting the corn genetics lab during our next unit and apply statistics to their data analysis. We were unable to use the muscle lab due to Helene. Our power was out for so long that the muscle samples were unable to be used and discarded before we returned after the hurricane. \r\n\r\nWe are so thankful for these resources and the experiences they provided!","fullyFundedDate":1721495953782,"projectUrl":"project/visualizing-life/8502020/","projectTitle":"Visualizing Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McDowell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9596114_orig.jpg?crop=1280,1280,x320,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721434796669","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9596114"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63586","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1935,"numTeachers":89,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.1,"schoolId":63586,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Greenbrier High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Greenbrier High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/columbia-county-school-district/greenbrier-high-school/63586"}
