I can't imagine my childhood without Curious George, Clifford, Froggy, and Fancy Nancy. When I became the Media Specialist at the elementary school, there were hardly any Curious George, Clifford, or Froggy books. I knew right away I had to find a way to get some of those books in my library ASAP. I wanted to introduce the students to Fancy Nacny and her super imagination. Pinkalicious is a great example of using your imagination.\r\nCommunity members and parents don't understand how expensive library-bound books are. There is not a lot of money budgeted towards books. You have to be very strategic. How you spend it. You want to get the most bang for your buck. Donors Chose provided me a way to get some iconic picture books to help children become lifelong readers.
