From the moment my students saw it, their faces lit up—they rushed over to choose their \"spot!\" They commented on how soft, colorful, and inviting it felt. We now begin each morning together on the rug for community circle time and it has already transformed our routines. Students settle in more quickly, participate more confidently, and feel a stronger sense of belonging in our shared space.\r\n\r\nWe've also integrated the rug into our small-group lessons, story time, and independent workshop. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of students spread out during a reading/writing activity, completely engaged and comfortable as they identified main idea and key details. The rug has given us a defined, cozy gathering place that supports focus, collaboration, and academic choice.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current units in literacy, this rug will serve as our meeting place for hands-on activities, shared reading, and collaborative discussions. Your support didn't just give us a classroom item; it gave us a space where students can connect, grow, and feel at home in their learning. Thank you for believing in our classroom and helping create a warm, welcoming environment where my students can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1757332380390,"projectUrl":"project/rug-of-wonders-where-learning-comes-to/9682203/","projectTitle":"Rug of Wonders: Where Learning Comes to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10241711_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757069639019","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wanofakindteacher"},{"teacherId":10047693,"projectId":9389193,"letterContent":"The immense support you all showed in helping complete my project has had an immediate and lasting effect on our learning environment. When the students began the school year and I was able to introduce them to all the new equipment you helped furnish they were taken aback by the kindness the others had shown our class. We utilize most of the equipment on a daily basis and it continues to encourage active learning and pride in the overall classroom.\r\n\r\nI am constantly using the equipment to better support students in ways I was not able to before. For instance, the wobble stools have been useful so far as I identify students who need that extra movement and motion to stay on track and be successful in the class. The green rocking chair we use as our classroom cool down zone and it helps that we have been able to practice classroom expectations to a point where students who need it can signal me or I can signal students who I believe needs quiet time. It is seamlessly being used properly to help keep overall classroom behaviors positive and give those students a needed release.","fullyFundedDate":1752511989488,"projectUrl":"project/seating-for-1st-grade-classroom/9389193/","projectTitle":"Seating for 1st Grade Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. T","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10047693"},{"teacherId":9992860,"projectId":9239636,"letterContent":"I wanted to share how your generosity has helped my students engage with their peers, feel successful in a catching activity and show me the biggest smiles I've seen this year. With the items purchased, we were able to construct a mobile, switch based apparatus that allows students with limited coordination and mobility simulate tossing an object to a peer that may not have otherwise reached a height that could successfully be caught. The PVC structure is fully adjustable allowing for us to aim the leaf blower up in the air, straight ahead or down to floor. \r\nIn our current unit, our enhanced Autism students are using the switch and blower to launch a scarf into the air and catch it before it hits the ground. THEY HAVE LOVED IT! \r\nIn future units, we will change the configuration of the PVC structure, lowering the blower and the switch that operates it toward the ground so it can propel a ball through our put put golf course. This will allow one of our 5th grade students, who is in a power chair, to use a modified golf club to operate the switch, pushing the ball toward the hole! I can't wait to see him do this! \r\nThe year is just starting and the possibilities for this equipment are endless.
