The art classroom library has positively impacted student's learning, as they are now able to access art related books in the art classroom. This resource supports the opportunity to incorporate literature into art lessons with read alouds during lessons and has also supported improving students' literacy skills during independent reading, and providing challenging activities for students that finish projects early. This allows students to expand on their understanding of the elements and principles of art as well as further develop both literacy and creative skills in the art classroom. \r\n\r\nDuring lessons, I am now able to read the hardcopy version of books that support the art activity. For example the book, \"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?\", introduces the element of art, color, to students. After briefly discussing the book, students then apply this understanding to creating their own brown bear artwork. The book, \"Ruby Finds A Worry\", supports both art standards and SEL connection with self-awareness. After reading and discussing the story, students apply this deeper understanding to creating a worry collage artwork of their own. The book, \"The Color Monster-a story about emotions\" supports the art lesson that applies both the element of art, color, and the SEL connection for self-management. Students then apply this deeper understanding to creating their own color monster artwork. I greatly appreciate your support in providing this resource in the art classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1735654970966,"projectUrl":"project/art-classroom-library/8740084/","projectTitle":"Art Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dauksch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9730390"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_93441","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":520,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":65.2,"schoolId":93441,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gray Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gray Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/washington-county-school-district/gray-elementary-school/93441"}
