The books have ignited their engagement and participation, elevated their critical thinking and communication skills, and sparked a genuine interest in reading. Over the past two months, my students' reading test scores have soared, improving by one or two levels. They are now more motivated and eager to dive into the rich concepts and themes, including empathy, tolerance, determination, inclusion, self-worth, overcoming anxiety and fear, cultural identity, resilience, and more. These books are essential to their social-emotional learning, cultivating a growth mindset and vital life skills that prepare them to be responsible citizens in their communities and emotionally intelligent global citizens of tomorrow.\r\n\r\nIt has been heartwarming to witness my students enthusiastically check out books from our classroom library using their custom-made library cards. They check out books for at least two days, read a minimum of four books per week, and diligently maintain a reading log. They also engage with books independently during small group reading rotations and as rewards for accomplishing classroom tasks. The excitement and gratitude from parents have been palpable. One parent expressed, \"Books have a magical way of opening young minds, and for my daughter, they have been a gateway to wonder, learning, and imagination. Watching her face light up as she explores these new stories reminds us of the lasting impact that access to books can have on a child's journey (Perez, C, 2025).\"\r\n\r\nStudents reading below grade level, including those with special needs and English Language Learners, have also made significant strides, finding improvement through the captivating illustrations. This initiative has strengthened the bond between parents and teachers, as well as students and parents, by fostering collaboration through shared reading experiences.\r\n\r\nYour generous donation has given my students the hope to dream, explore, learn, and discover new possibilities. They are beginning to realize that reading can elevate their academic and social skills, one book at a time. As we look to the future, we aspire to continue this journey of learning and discovery with your support. My students and I are sincerely grateful to you for providing them with the gift of hope.","fullyFundedDate":1734712078965,"projectUrl":"project/one-book-increased-critical-thinking-/8870368/","projectTitle":"One Book= Increased Critical Thinking + Communication Skills + Creativity + Hope","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9800142_orig.jpg?crop=1638,1638,x0,y207&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728526751368","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9800142"},{"teacherId":9598423,"projectId":8729078,"letterContent":"My students have been incredibly excited about the new resources, particularly the DC Motor Electronic Robotic kits.
