The 4 books I received on math riddles, brain teasers, and math challenges for my students have been a hit! As an early finisher option students may pick a brain teaser to try to solve. They love the feeling of completing the puzzle and they are eager to know if they are correct. Even my students who typical achieve goals at lower levels, try these out and man do they get a boost of confidence when they can figure them out on their own. The wooden puzzles have been a huge hit for all of my students! I give them the option to choose a puzzle in the morning before our announcements come on as a \"soft start\" to the day. \r\nI think what has brought me the most joy with these brain teasers is seeing the looks on their faces when they solve them, seeing the teamwork that is happening in order to solve them, and the confidence that has been boosted in completing a somewhat challenge task. My class is pretty large with 28 students, so teamwork is a must, but it can be a challenge some days. Hearing them encourage one other and help each other solve problems has been awesome to experience. \r\nThe last piece of goodness I want to share is that having a non-technology option for my students that they enjoy is magical. Today, so much of what these young learners experience is through a screen and I love being able to make learning fun without a screen! That wouldn't have happened without your generosity, so thank you again!","fullyFundedDate":1731547675552,"projectUrl":"project/brain-teasers-in-the-hive/8548709/","projectTitle":"Brain Teasers in the Hive!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stevenson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9623537"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_34562","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":738,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":55.6,"schoolId":34562,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grafton Village Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Grafton Village Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/stafford-county-school-district/grafton-village-elementary-school/34562"}
