They've explored themes from Lunar New Year, Black History Month, and Women's History Month, creating pieces centered on identity, resilience, and reflection. While we are still learning to use the 3D printer, students are excited and beginning to experiment with its possibilities.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were immediately engaged and inspired. They loved having hands-on, creative outlets that helped them slow down and connect with their culture and emotions.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building their projects and learning the 3D printer as we prepare for a gallery-style showcase celebrating wellness and cultural expression.","fullyFundedDate":1768496708227,"projectUrl":"project/cultural-art-mental-well-being/10003776/","projectTitle":"Cultural Art = Mental Well Being","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. Students independently choose between instruments, books, and art materials depending on what they need in the moment, some practice musical patterns with headphones for focused sound therapy, while others use speakers for shared listening and collaboration. One powerful moment came when a student who was feeling overwhelmed picked up an instrument, followed along with a method book, and within minutes shifted into a calm, focused state, later sharing that it was the first time all day their mind felt \"quiet.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the reaction was immediate and emotional—students were excited, curious, and deeply appreciative. Many were eager to try everything at once, moving between sketchbooks, markers, and instruments with a sense of ownership and freedom. What stood out most was how naturally they embraced the purpose of the space: rather than chaos, there was intention. Students who often feel the weight of constant digital stimulation expressed relief in having tactile, creative outlets that helped them slow down and reconnect with themselves.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue building their musical fluency while deepening their connection between music theory and performance through consistent, self-directed practice. We are also expanding the use of the space to support more intentional routines for mental clarity, where students can proactively use music and art to regulate stress.","fullyFundedDate":1767987726436,"projectUrl":"project/independent-music-art-therapy/9964011/","projectTitle":"Independent Music & Art Therapy","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. Having access to snacks has helped many students stay energized, which in turn has improved their ability to focus during lessons and complete assignments.\r\n\r\nTeachers have observed that students are more attentive, less distracted by hunger, and more willing to participate in class activities. This small but consistent support has contributed to a more productive and positive learning environment.\r\nIn addition to improved focus, the snacks have also supported students' overall well-being. Some students who previously struggled to concentrate due to hunger are now better able to engage with their work and persist through challenging tasks. As a result, there has been an increase in assignment completion and a stronger sense of confidence among students as they experience success in their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed excitement and gratitude, with some even surprised that such support was available to them. The snacks quickly became something students look forward to, and they often show appreciation through kind words and responsible use. Next, we will be using these materials to deepen our work with problem-solving and mathematical reasoning. Students will continue to collaborate using the whiteboards to justify their answers, make mistakes safely, and revise their thinking. The posters are serving as daily visual reminders of key strategies and vocabulary, helping students become more independent and confident learners.\r\n\r\nYour support gave my students more than supplies—you gave them confidence, joy, and a stronger connection to math.
