Because of your contribution, my students have been able to engage with technology in ways that transform how they learn and interact with the world. While many use devices at home for entertainment, they are now learning how technology can empower creativity, problem-solving, and academic growth. Whether they're collaborating on shared documents, researching real-world questions, or practicing skills through interactive tools, this technology is helping them build confidence and curiosity in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in our classroom has been incredible. Students are especially thrilled by how hands-on and interactive lessons have become — they love having the ability to explore at their own pace, create projects that showcase their voice, and share their ideas with others. For many, this has turned learning from something passive into something they feel part of. I've seen students who were once hesitant to participate become eager to dive into activities because the technology gives them new ways to express themselves and succeed.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who often struggled to stay engaged during traditional lessons, has truly flourished. With access to these tools, he has become one of our most enthusiastic learners — asking questions, exploring beyond expectations, and proudly sharing what he's created with the class. Stories like his show how powerful this technology truly is.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their future. Your generosity has made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1747661758176,"projectUrl":"project/reading-with-miss-denson/9202529/","projectTitle":"Reading with Miss Denson","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Denson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9973978_orig.jpg?crop=1953,1953,x374,y217&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747678275300","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9973978"},{"teacherId":9829570,"projectId":8927138,"letterContent":"I want to begin by once again thanking every and anyone who had a hand in the funding of our project. Although at first it was very puzzling and foreign to see the hockey equipment for the majority of our students, once they had the opportunity to learn about the sport and use the equipment it quickly became one of the most popular activities. When I first mentioned that we would be exploring hockey in our new unit, most of the kids gave me puzzled looks and those that knew a little of hockey wondered how if we did not have an ice rink. After explaining it as \"soccer but you strike the ball with a stick,\" many of the students had an \"ah-ha\" moment and quickly learned the once intimidating game was somewhat familiar. \r\n\r\nAfter discussing the terminology and the equipment we would be using, we broke down the unit into dribbling, passing and shooting. By taking a week to do various activities revolving around those skills, students quickly became comfortable with hockey. So comfortable that we were able to finish the unit by having a 4v4 field hockey tournament with our 3rd-5th grade groups. Popularity has grown so much that hockey has now been added as one of our most popular \"Team Day\" activities, where students get to choose a team game which we have done throughout the year and play it on Fridays. This was all made possible by generous donors that allowed us to expose our students to new sports they may have never hear of before.
