The left-handed scissors help my handful of left-handers so much! Every morning, my students step on the number spots and say the number out loud, and the chew bracelets make a big difference with my students who would often put their pencils, shirts, fingers, or even bark in their mouths. \r\n\r\nOne of the materials that have made a big difference would be the green wobble cushions. When I introduced them to the students they were so excited and I let each of them try them out for a second. They became an incentive for the students to finish their work quickly. During our center time, they have to finish their table work to then get the option to color, read, or draw. I gave them the option to sit on one of the cushions to read and the students started finishing their work quicker in order to get a cushion. \r\n\r\nMy next steps will be to acquire more materials for my students with special needs. Items like the sensory tiles and magnetic tiles were great tools for my SN students to use when they needed to take a break or to use when I work with other students before I can reach them and provide 1 on 1 aide. \r\n\r\nThank you all so much for supporting my students in their education!","fullyFundedDate":1758327363305,"projectUrl":"project/kinder-inc-needs-your-help/9654330/","projectTitle":"Kinder Inc. Their dry erase whiteboards have quickly become a favorite tool in our classroom, allowing students to share quick responses. It also gives me the opportunity to assess the entire class at once making my job easier. They enjoy the interactive nature of these activities and look forward to using their boards each day. The best part is that every student now has one, ensuring equal participation and engagement during lessons. The graph paper notebooks and headphones have also become essential parts of our daily routine. Students use the graph notebooks every day to record their mathematics notes, which helps them stay organized and build confidence in their problem-solving skills. Headphones are used daily during our technology block, supporting focused learning. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, the students' smiles, chatter, and excitement filled the room. They were genuinely grateful and thrilled to have these supplies. These resources will continue to support their growth all year long, and we are deeply appreciative of your generosity.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I know these materials will continue to play a key role in our classroom success. The students are developing stronger academic habits, and the consistency of having the right tools makes learning smoother and more enjoyable. Your support has created not only excitement but also lasting opportunities for students to thrive. Having the funds for these resources means so much to me especially when unexpected situations arise. A few weeks ago I had to be out of the classroom for a few days and being able to purchase materials that my substitute could use to teach the students while I was out was a huge life saver. \r\n\r\nMany times, teachers can't leave their lesson plans for the substitute as the sub doesn't have the passwords or training to know how to use the curriculum. I was able to purchase supplemental material that reviewed concepts I was teaching to my students so they could work on something familiar while I was gone. \r\n\r\nI also love the fact that I can purchase project units to help make learning more fun and engaging for my students!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and I can't wait to see how much my students grow this year!","fullyFundedDate":1746487661367,"projectUrl":"project/projects-and-resources-for-learning/9310423/","projectTitle":"Projects and Resources for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Romo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6007592_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637040478208","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6007592"},{"teacherId":5496710,"projectId":9184712,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom through Donors Choose! Because of your kindness, our students received high-quality headphones and headphone splitters, large poster-sized sticky notes, and comfy floor cushions—all of which have already made a big impact in our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe headphones and splitters have allowed my students to engage more fully with math videos, whether independently or in small collaborative groups. It's been amazing to watch them focus, problem-solve, and discuss strategies together with confidence—something that simply wasn't possible before due to background noise and a lack of tech resources.\r\n\r\nThe large sticky note posters have transformed the way we collaborate. Students now have a space to record their thinking, display their group work, and share their learning with the whole class. It's incredible to see their pride when they present their ideas in such a visible, meaningful way.\r\n\r\nAnd the cushions—what a difference they've made! Having the ability to choose flexible seating has helped students feel more comfortable, empowered, and ready to learn. It has created a more inclusive, student-centered environment where everyone can find a space that works for them.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for investing in the learning and well-being of every student. Who knew what a difference a carpet would make! Coming from the upper grades, we didn't do much carpet time. However this year I have been implementing carpet time a lot more and the students are able to concentrate more and keep their attention focused on the lesson! \r\n\r\nEveryone knows which circle is theirs and I don't have to deal with students moving around trying to get closer to their friends. They stay organized in their rows and we are able to get through our activity. \r\n\r\nThe carpet has also been great for our independent reading time, many students like using the carpet to lay down and read their book. I have a few squishmallows in the class that they use to get comfy and read! \r\n\r\nThis carpet has also taught them a lot of responsibility! They take great pride in keeping it clean and when they notice someone has tracked leaves or dirt on it, they ask to use the vaccuum to clean it up.","fullyFundedDate":1726674509895,"projectUrl":"project/carpet-time-organization/8757258/","projectTitle":"Carpet Time Organization","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Romo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6007592_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637040478208","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6007592"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39837","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":377,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.8,"schoolId":39837,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glenwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glenwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/linden-unified-school-district/glenwood-elementary-school/39837"}
