The binders offer a space for their work book, resources pages such as number lines, multiplication charts and unit vocabulary notes. The students come to me with a variety of reading abilities and speaking a variety of languages. Having headphones for every student allows all students access grade level curriculum, and in many circumstances in their language. \r\nI would love to be able to read every text to students that are not able to read grade level texts, but it is impossible for me to do that for every individual student. I bought cable runners myself to allow the students to access the chargers and so they wouldn't fall to the ground, but I was happy to spend some money to ensure that this project worked the way I envisioned and it really does. It's been saving a ton of complaints and time from students trying to blow their nose on paper towels or running to the bathroom. The supply of tissues is probably the most impactful but that mass supply of pencils will come in handy for the long run because when students forget pencils it is amazing to have a steady supply ready to go. I've also said that having handsantizer is one of the reasons I haven't gotten sick this flue and cold season because I constantly use it throughout the day and the students use them a lot as well. I'm about to have to break into the second bottle. Students have been using the safety pins and first - aid kit the most. Although these materials aren't the most flashy, they add a comfort impact that others can't. My students feel at ease when asking for a band-aid or clothing help, now that they know we have the materials to fix the problem. These small materials have impacted our choir in a way that we can refocus easier, while not having to worry about clothing problems or a paper cut. We use our water bottle during field trips and concerts when water breaks aren't available. Having to not worry about the basics, my students are able to focus on their music, and my oh my, have they grown! Their musicianship skills have improved and their concert nerves have eased.
