They were thrilled to open the several boxes we received and pull out such vibrant colorful books, many of them with characters on the cover who looked just like them. The day we opened the books I already had several students ask to take some home. A few weeks later they brought back the graphic novels they'd finished reading outside of class and collected a new stack to take home over Christmas break, which they were able to share with their families.\r\n\r\nYou might notice in some of the photos that a few of the books are already looking a little worn, which should illustrate how well-loved they have been since being delivered to our classroom. My students will continue to enjoy these during silent reading time, as well as at home if they choose, before we officially dive into our graphic novel units this spring! We can't wait to explore these books as a class and analyze the incredible stories and artwork held therein.
