They were confident in making connections, illustrations, and models on their own with the colored prints given to them for Biology concepts; protein synthesis, pedigree chart, genetic disorders, evolution and Physical Science project. \r\nIn Biology students were able to connect, link, organize, and recall the different terms, enzymes used, processes involved, and write and read the summary on these concepts individually and as a group. The color print helps them understand the content, concept, context clearly than a black and white print.\r\nVisual learners were far more happy with color prints of the assignments namely images, diagrams, charts, maps etc. as it enhances comprehension and memory retention in them.\r\n\r\nIn one of the physical science project students were given the task to imagine themselves as electrical engineer and how they will transmit electricity from powerplant to the new school being built in their neighbourhood. The students gave their request for items (power plant, transformer-step up; step down, high voltage powerline etc.) for color print and made a model (poster, flyer) and explained the transmission, challenges faced, limitations, budget, how they overcame challenges/problems etc. and presented their work before the class. Projects, posters, and reports printed in color tend to look more refined and professional making a postive impact of peers.\r\nThe students used the color printer to make posters, flyers, or promotional materials for school club.\r\nI appreciate and thank the donor for their time, efforts, help, and support.","fullyFundedDate":1672842384305,"projectUrl":"project/read-color-analyze/7064470/","projectTitle":"Read, Color, Analyze","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. UK","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8887461"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16638","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":573,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":95,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":41.7,"schoolId":16638,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glen Oaks Magnet High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glen Oaks Magnet High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/east-baton-rouge-parish-public-schools/glen-oaks-high-school/16638"}
