Your generosity made it possible to create a fun, engaging, and positive learning environment that benefited a wide range of learners. I was absolutely thrilled when I learned that my entire Donors Choose project had been fully funded. As a new teacher, it was extremely important to me to establish a classroom where every student felt comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. Thanks to your donations, I was able to provide resources that supported my students' academic and social emotional needs.\r\n\r\nOne of the most valuable additions to our classroom was the collection of sensory materials. These items quickly became favorites among many students, especially those who needed extra support managing stress, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions. Students often used sensory tools during tests, presentations, or after difficult moments in their day. Having access to these materials allowed them to regulate their emotions and return to learning feeling calmer and more focused. The calm corner that was created with these resources also became a cherished space where students could take a short break when needed and practice self-regulation strategies before rejoining classroom activities. In addition, I am incredibly grateful for the indoor games and activities that were provided through this project. These resources were especially helpful during rainy days and periods of extreme heat when students were unable to enjoy outdoor recess. The games gave students meaningful opportunities to play, collaborate, and strengthen friendships while remaining indoors. The small indoor basketball set was particularly popular among students who enjoy sports. They were beyond excited to have the opportunity to participate in a favorite activity even when outdoor play was not possible. Other students gravitated toward the magnetic sensory chips, magnetic tiles, building blocks, and games such as Connect Four. These activities encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and positive social interactions. Students consistently looked forward to using these materials and often eagerly anticipated indoor playtime.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, I am deeply thankful for the picture books that were included in the project. Each book was thoughtfully selected to align with the content we were learning in our integrated English Language Arts and science units. These books brought our lessons to life by providing rich visuals, engaging stories, and meaningful connections to the topics we studied. For example, \"Wombat Underground: A Wildfire Survival Story\" perfectly complemented our unit on natural hazards, helping students better understand the impact of wildfires on animals and ecosystems. Likewise, \"Dinosaur Lady: The Daring Discoveries of Mary Anning\" served as an excellent extension to our paleontology unit and inspired students to learn more about fossils and scientific discovery. The excitement these books generated extended beyond our classroom lessons. Students became so curious about the topics we explored that many began searching for additional related books in our school library. Watching their enthusiasm for reading and learning grow was truly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and support. The resources provided through this project have had a lasting impact on my students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and overall classroom experience. Your kindness has enriched our learning community in countless ways, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunities you have made possible.","fullyFundedDate":1758306555567,"projectUrl":"project/fun-sensory-time/9676167/","projectTitle":"Fun Sensory Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10238721_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757034690683","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10238721"},{"teacherId":10108981,"projectId":9802350,"letterContent":"Students have been utilizing the TWYN drawer daily since we were able to set this up. The students feel safe and happy in the library and your donation is a huge part of that.\r\n\r\nProviding books and snacks is not always in my budget, and it is not always included in my school's budget, so you are literally providing resources that these deserving students would never have otherwise. \r\n\r\nWe have loved reading Matilda, Ghost and the One and Only Ivan so far and we have seen reading test scores increase because of book club and other reading programs!","fullyFundedDate":1746787084265,"projectUrl":"project/book-club-book-sets/9245163/","projectTitle":"Book Club Book Sets","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G-O","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2208719_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1707174291948","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2208719"},{"teacherId":8552411,"projectId":9079298,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for your generosity in donating the money needed for supplies for our classroom. This has not only made a impact on last years class of 14 students but this years 9 students as well. We were able to focus on both sensory and gross motor needs of the students with the scooter boards. This also offered the students the opportunity to do gross motor movement inside on days when the students were not able to be outside due to poor weather conditions. As you know young children need movement to help in there learning environment. The use of the mini trampoline has been a huge help in assisting our students in requesting movement breaks and helps with gross motor skills as well. We were able to implement music time with our students adding the dancing scarf sticks along with musical instruments we had in class. These add to the learning environment especially since in California the Transitional Kindergarten age has been lowered to the age of 4. We are using more movement and music in the classroom to enhance learning. The larger crayons were used with the students as they are easier for them to grip the larger crayons and then later in the year we can move to smaller thinner crayons and pencils.","fullyFundedDate":1746544858559,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-physical-activity-needs/9079298/","projectTitle":"Sensory Physical Activity Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michelle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8552411_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695501393849","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8552411"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41143","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":369,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.6,"schoolId":41143,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gibson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gibson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/woodland-joint-unified-school-district/gibson-elementary-school/41143"}
