These resources have played an important role in one of our most engaging projects this year designing and building cardboard furniture.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the glue guns, they were excited to use professional-style tools that would help bring their ideas to life. Many immediately began brainstorming designs and discussing how they could transform simple cardboard into functional and creative pieces of furniture.\r\n\r\nStudents used the glue guns throughout the design process, from assembling prototypes to constructing their final pieces. One of the most rewarding moments was watching students test, revise, and improve their designs as they discovered how engineering, creativity, and problem-solving work together. They took great pride in creating sturdy furniture from materials that might otherwise have been discarded.\r\n\r\nThe glue guns allowed students to work more independently and efficiently, giving them the confidence to tackle larger, more complex projects. Their excitement and sense of accomplishment were evident as they showcased their finished furniture and explained the design choices behind their work.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue exploring three-dimensional design and construction through sculpture and architectural projects. The skills they developed; planning, perseverance, collaboration, and creative thinking, will continue to support their growth both inside and outside the art classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make these hands-on learning experiences possible. Your generosity has empowered students to think like artists, designers, and makers while turning their creative ideas into reality.","fullyFundedDate":1769177613840,"projectUrl":"project/cardboard-creations/10003238/","projectTitle":"Cardboard Creations","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. La Shel Olivere","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8559528"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65939","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":658,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"24.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":65939,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about George Visual & Perf Arts School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"George Visual & Perf Arts School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/adelanto-elementary-school-district/george-visual-performing-arts-school/65939"}
