My students are so excited about the graphic novels and many have already finished reading one. The pencils and dry erase markers have been very useful for those students who do not have the essential supplies to be successful for school, your donations helped with that need. \r\n\r\nWe have used the dry erase boards once already for a game, the students where so excited. The dry erase sponges were really needed for that game. I have two students who tend to use the seat cushions daily. It helps them stay focused on what we are working on. \r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our literacy in the classroom. By building this literacy corner, I have been able to meet with small groups of students related to our ARC curriculum. In this curriculum, we work to build strong readers and create a love of literacy. Because many of our students come to us lacking a strong literacy foundation, we both create that foundation while also extending their literacy skills at the middle school level simultaneously. This means that we need to pay close attention to how we create this love of reading because our students already feel behind in the work and we are working to both undo previous negative feelings about reading while also getting them exposed to grade level texts. The literacy corner has been a great addition to the work we are doing because students have a place to regroup and get comfortable-- they get a chance to see that reading can be fun and not just work. \r\n\r\nStudents were so excited to see the materials and utilize the resources. In my position, I work with students across many classes, so the impact of this project has been huge. The 6th graders have been most excited for the brain breaks, like the building materials, to help them reset and refocus. The older students, the 8th graders, have been really excited about the comfortable seating options they now have when reading. Overall, I'm really excited for the possibilities the literacy corner has created, and I'm excited to continue to build on this space over time to make it even more of what students want to see in their classrooms.","fullyFundedDate":1760912646403,"projectUrl":"project/building-my-literacy-corner/9844968/","projectTitle":"Building My Literacy Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Montigney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2982414_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1471608268184","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2982414"},{"teacherId":3068275,"projectId":9789526,"letterContent":"The PBIS bracelet-making activity had a positive and lasting impact on our students by reinforcing school-wide behavior expectations in a meaningful, hands-on way. Students earned the opportunity to participate by demonstrating positive behaviors such as respect, responsibility, and kindness. This helped students clearly see the connection between their daily choices and positive outcomes.\r\n\r\nDuring the activity, students practiced collaboration, creativity, and self-regulation while working together in a calm, joyful environment. The bracelet-making process encouraged peer interaction, conversation, and teamwork, strengthening relationships among students and promoting a sense of belonging within our school community.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the activity served as a celebration of student success. Students felt recognized and valued for their positive behavior, which in turn increased their motivation, confidence, and engagement. By combining creativity with PBIS principles, this project helped reinforce positive behavior expectations while fostering a supportive and inclusive school climate.","fullyFundedDate":1764683681971,"projectUrl":"project/crafting-day-rewards-for-our-pbis-supers/9789526/","projectTitle":"Crafting Day Rewards for Our PBIS Superstars!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3068275_orig.jpg?crop=539,539,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628782851192","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mzcarter"},{"teacherId":3068275,"projectId":9737020,"letterContent":"With your support, my students will gain a deeper, hands-on understanding of how computers store and communicate information by creating their own binary code bracelets. This activity turns an abstract concept—binary code—into something concrete, creative, and memorable. As students translate letters into 0s and 1s, then into bead patterns, they not only build a personalized bracelet but also build real computer science skills that strengthen problem-solving, pattern recognition, and logical thinking.\r\n\r\nYour donation will help my middle schoolers see themselves as capable coders by giving them the tools to explore how technology works at its most fundamental level. Many of my students have limited exposure to STEM experiences, and this project provides an engaging entry point into computer science that feels fun, empowering, and accessible to everyone.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping spark curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong interest in STEM through an activity that makes learning both meaningful and hands-on.","fullyFundedDate":1763574268111,"projectUrl":"project/cracking-the-code-learning-computers-th/9737020/","projectTitle":"Cracking the Code: Learning Computers Through Binary Bracelets!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3068275_orig.jpg?crop=539,539,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628782851192","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mzcarter"},{"teacherId":3068275,"projectId":9696670,"letterContent":"This project has had a powerful impact on my students' literacy and STEM learning. By building robots with simple crafting materials, students were able to blend hands-on creativity with academic skill-building. As they designed, constructed, and tested their robots, they read informational texts, followed multi-step written directions, and wrote reflections about their design choices. This purposeful reading and writing strengthened their comprehension, vocabulary, and ability to communicate technical ideas clearly.\r\n\r\nThe materials provided through this project helped students who often struggle with traditional literacy tasks become more confident and engaged readers. Because the robot-building activities were fun, collaborative, and connected to real-world problem solving, students were motivated to read more carefully, discuss their ideas with peers, and revise their written work. I saw measurable growth in their ability to interpret nonfiction texts, explain their thinking in writing, and work through challenges with persistence.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, students not only improved their literacy skills but also discovered that engineering and creativity are within their reach. This project truly expanded their sense of what they can do—and who they can become.","fullyFundedDate":1760664707159,"projectUrl":"project/crafting-robots-building-words/9696670/","projectTitle":"Crafting Robots, Building Words","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3068275_orig.jpg?crop=539,539,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628782851192","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mzcarter"},{"teacherId":3068275,"projectId":9843022,"letterContent":"The implementation of the typing software has had a measurable and meaningful impact on student progress across our STEM curriculum. Since integrating the program, students have demonstrated significant growth in both typing fluency and overall digital confidence. Average typing speed increased by 32% and accuracy improved by 28% within one semester, allowing students to complete computer-based assignments more efficiently and with less frustration.\r\n\r\nThese gains have directly strengthened students' performance in STEM activities such as coding, data entry, online research, and digital design. Students who previously struggled to keep up during technology-based tasks are now more engaged and able to participate fully in collaborative projects. Teachers have reported noticeable improvements in students' ability to focus on problem-solving rather than on the mechanics of typing, leading to deeper learning and stronger academic outcomes.\r\n\r\nThe program has also helped close skill gaps for English Language Learners and students with limited home access to technology. By providing structured, individualized practice, the software has created a more equitable learning environment where every student can develop essential digital fluency skills.\r\n\r\nOverall, the typing program has increased student confidence, improved academic efficiency, and strengthened students' readiness for more advanced STEM coursework. This foundational skill set will continue to support their long-term success in technology-driven learning.","fullyFundedDate":1761917241212,"projectUrl":"project/typing-to-innovate-building-stem-skills/9843022/","projectTitle":"Typing to Innovate: Building Stem Skills Through Digital Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3068275_orig.jpg?crop=539,539,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628782851192","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mzcarter"},{"teacherId":10328478,"projectId":9862100,"letterContent":"Thank you again for all of the items!
