The growing kit is bringing biology right to their lab tables, letting students move from static textbook pictures to actually managing a mini-ecosystem. They get to be real scientists, making observations, collecting data, and watching life cycles unfold. Meanwhile, those new, high-quality microscopes let every student see the microscopic world clearly, transforming abstract concepts like cells and bacteria into stunning visual reality. It makes science feel immediately relevant and sparks that natural curiosity every middle schooler has.\r\n\r\nAnd let's not forget the practical side! The combination of more engaging tools and better infrastructure makes the whole process smoother. When students know they have excellent tools to work with, they get more excited about starting a lab. The new drying rack might seem small, but it's huge for efficiency! It cuts down on the chaos and wait time during cleanup, meaning you can squeeze more valuable lab time into each class period. All these materials together create a classroom where experimentation is the norm, allowing students to learn critical thinking skills through direct experience rather than just reading about them.","fullyFundedDate":1753587115928,"projectUrl":"project/stem-materials/9455128/","projectTitle":"STEM Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lindskog","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10074986"},{"teacherId":9933566,"projectId":9628698,"letterContent":"Our students are absolutely loving the new books, and they have already brought so much joy and learning into our classroom. Texts like Pete the Cat introduce important themes such as resilience, positivity, and flexibility in a way that is fun and engaging for young learners. The self-regulation and life skills books give us tools to teach essential everyday skills, like managing emotions, problem-solving, and building independence. These stories provide clear, relatable examples that help our students practice real-world lessons while also enjoying the process of reading.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom often looks interactive and hands-on. Many of our students benefit from listening to the story while also seeing the words and pictures, and we incorporate activities like acting out scenes, using visual supports, or connecting the story to a daily routine. For example, after reading a life skills book about making choices, we practice making small decisions in the classroom, such as choosing between two activities. This not only deepens comprehension but also makes the lessons meaningful in our students' everyday lives.\r\n\r\nCertain students have especially connected with these books. One child who adores music has really engaged with Pete the Cat stories, often singing along with the repeated phrases and eagerly asking for the book again. Another student who has been working on self-regulation strategies loves the social-emotional stories, often relating the characters' feelings to their own and practicing calming techniques we've learned. These books have created excitement around reading time and opened new opportunities for growth, learning, and confidence for all of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1755716054824,"projectUrl":"project/autistic-support-classroom-library/9628698/","projectTitle":"Autistic Support Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9933566_orig.jpg?crop=1922,1922,x1210,y825&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740769819321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9933566"},{"teacherId":9933566,"projectId":9136619,"letterContent":"Our classroom is so grateful for the new printer, as it has already made a big difference for our students. While many of our donors may be familiar with using a printer at home, in a self-contained special education classroom it becomes an essential learning tool. We are able to quickly create individualized materials such as visual schedules, adapted books, worksheets, and communication supports that meet each student's unique needs. Having this technology on hand allows us to provide resources in real time, keeping our students engaged and supported throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe students are especially excited about being able to see their work come to life instantly. Whether it's a story they wrote, artwork they created, or a personalized learning activity, printing gives them something tangible they can hold, share, and be proud of. Several students have been highly motivated by being able to \"publish\" their work and see it in print, which boosts their confidence and excitement for learning. One student in particular has taken a strong interest in helping to print out daily schedules and classroom visuals, giving him a sense of responsibility and pride in contributing to the classroom community.\r\n\r\nThis new printer has not only added convenience for teachers but has also opened up new ways for our students to learn, create, and connect. The immediacy and personalization it allows make learning more accessible and meaningful, and we are so thankful for the opportunity it provides our students to grow and shine.","fullyFundedDate":1741137160601,"projectUrl":"project/printer-for-autistic-support-classroom/9136619/","projectTitle":"Printer for Autistic Support Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9933566_orig.jpg?crop=1922,1922,x1210,y825&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740769819321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9933566"},{"teacherId":4426852,"projectId":9015793,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom project!
