Most of our students are of Hispanic descent. As a library media specialist, I do my best to make sure that my students have books that reflect the world around them with a limited budget. I pride my self on having a quite diverse library, but I feel like I can always do more to provide books that are mirrors for my students. They deserve to see more books with character who look like them, sound like them, and with Latinx characters who go on to do great things!\r\n\r\nMy students have enjoyed these books and decorations that the donors helped me purchase for the library. As soon as I started unboxing them, students said things like, \"Oh, I want this one, Miss! Can you put it to the side for me?\" They love cuddling with Hermelindo, the little axolotl stuffy who helps students find the reptile and amphibian shelf. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, even those who didn't like to read before have started to read more books.
