They could not wait to be able to use them in the classroom for different activities. Since some of the items came at different times, we were able to have \"opening\" surprises each time a new item arrived. \r\n\r\nFor our math centers, the students asked to be able to use the connecting people for patterns. I was able to make a practice chart paper for them to build patterns on and they took off with it. Some of them finished those patterns, some of them created new ones, and many of them made shapes and patters on their own with the people. This was one of their favorite items that we received. On Fridays, when we do \"catch up day\" the students were able to use the connecting people in their own way. Some of the students continued to make patterns while others sorted them. A couple of students made hats and circles with the people. \r\n\r\nOnce we received the Lego Friends sets, the sets became a new addition to our catch up day activities. The students were excited to play with the sets and watching them use their imaginations and come up with stories for the horses and racers was exciting.\r\n\r\nI cannot wait to integrate the other activities more into our choice activities for math and literacy centers.
