These new books have given my low language students an opportunity to read in small groups with me and independently throughout the school day. \r\n\r\nThe first day that I showed the book to my students their eyes lit up. They were unsure of their abilities in reading the books, but with a little guidance and instruction they were able to read with success. This was a \"lightbulb\" moment for me as a teach. They actually believed in themselves and was able to see that reading in English at their level is not as hard as they thought.\r\n\r\nHaving these books in my classroom will help them continue to grow in their reading skills and hopefully bridge the gaps between their non-bilingual peers.
