During speech sessions, we've using these new materials during play-based learning, where communication happens naturally and joyfully. These materials have opened doors for functional, play-based learning and have allowed the students to become excited about learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students could not wait to explore and use the new materials. We are using the instructional toys and games to build turn-taking and joint attention, while targeting core vocabulary such as go, want, help, push, in, out, and more. Our pretend play and sorting sets have provided language rich opportunities to build vocabulary through describing, categorizing, and expanding their utterances. The sensory and fine motor tools are not only strengthening little hands, but also encouraging students to request, comment, and engage with others. The book-binding machine and laminating materials have already made a huge impact. I've been creating interactive and adapted stories, tailored to each student's needs. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are building toward even more independence and communication. Students are beginning to use longer phrases on their AAC systems, participate more actively in group activities, and initiate interactions with peers. Our next steps include expanding sentence structures, increasing spontaneous communication, and using our materials to support collaborative play and classroom participation.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom where every student has a voice and every moment of play is an opportunity to connect. Thank you for believing in my students and for helping them grow their communication skills one word—and now, even more—at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1766010951103,"projectUrl":"project/play-talk-and-learn-helping-young-voi/9897897/","projectTitle":"Play, Talk, and Learn!
