This project was an absolute hit with the students. Once I introduced it to the students and how they can use it they were so excited to try it. Although many students are aware that the virtual glasses can be used for gaming they were exposed to a whole new way to use them. The students practiced meditation and yoga with the use of the virtual glasses. Once the word got out the glasses became famous and known schoolwide. They became so popular that I had to make a schedule in the beginning. This project has helped students learn how meditation, mindfulness and yoga can be used in many facets of the day. It showed them a new way of grounding and resetting when needed.","fullyFundedDate":1716559519807,"projectUrl":"project/connected-and-calm/8380047/","projectTitle":"Connected and Calm","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6180448_orig.jpg?crop=1902,1902,x65,y65&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1636086675396","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6180448"},{"teacherId":6180448,"projectId":7790992,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in helping to fund the \"Master Piece\" project. For the first time at my school students were able to join a Lego Robotics club. I completed training to facilitate this program and was eager to start our first ever Lego Robotics Club. Not only did we have a new club but we entered into the First Lego League Robotics competition. Being in the competition, we needed more kits to practice with multiple robots. Your donation made this possible for our students to have more than one robot to practice with and have more than one build to use. We placed 9th place out of 18 clubs and this was our 1st year. \r\nParticipating in the Lego Robotics club helped students to build their skills of cooperation, teamwork, communication, research and inclusion. Most club members learned to code for the first time and are very good at it. We are definitely looking forward to next years competition. Your donation also allowed for us to support additional Lego projects where we built a Lego city.","fullyFundedDate":1701197473446,"projectUrl":"project/master-piece/7790992/","projectTitle":"Master Piece","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6180448_orig.jpg?crop=1902,1902,x65,y65&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1636086675396","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6180448"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5837","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":305,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":94,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.7,"schoolId":5837,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about James Farmer, Junior Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"James Farmer, Junior Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/fuller-elementary-school/5837"}
