We have now moved into our beautiful new school building, and it has been so nice to start the year with these materials. Our classroom is a colorful, busy place, and your donations have helped make it that way!\r\n\r\nThe new Spanish books have been an especially big hit. The kids are constantly reading the graphic novels, especially *Dog Man*, *Wings of Fire*, and *The Bad Guys*. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I wrote the project. Learning to read in a second language is hard work, and it makes such a difference to have books that students genuinely want to read. I love seeing them pick up a Spanish book just for fun, without being asked. They are building their vocabulary, strengthening their reading skills, and developing more confidence in Spanish along the way. One child has already finished all the Dog Mans I have to offer and wants more! I was thrilled to hear this, as last year I was pulling teeth to get kids to read in Spanish. \r\n\r\nThe watercolors have also been a big success. Kids love painting during indoor recess on rainy days when we can't go outside. We are also planning an animal project in which students will research an animal, paint a picture of it in its habitat, and write about it in Spanish. I love finding ways to bring art into our other subjects. The beautiful colored paper has also been perfect for displaying student work around the room. It makes our classroom feel special when the walls are filled with things the kids have made.\r\n\r\nFinally, thank you for all the practical supplies. The EXPO markers, pencils, paper, and tape might not sound very exciting, but we use them constantly. We go through whiteboard markers quickly because the kids practice their Spanish spelling, vocabulary, and math on whiteboards almost every day. Having plenty of paper and tape makes it easier to display their work, stay organized, and keep everything running smoothly. All of these things, big and small, have made a real difference in our classroom. Thank you for helping me provide my students with a creative, challenging, and welcoming place to learn!","fullyFundedDate":1782133856345,"projectUrl":"project/segundo-grado-con-excelencia-building-o/10209226/","projectTitle":"Segundo Grado con Excelencia: Building Our Spanish-English Learning Community","teacherDisplayName":"Sra.
