They have laughed, made inferences, connections, built their vocabulary, improved their characterization and summarizing skills. They truly restored my faith, in that students truly do have the love of learning, so long as the book is interesting to them! \r\n\r\nI have witnessed their excitement to want to read more, along with their disappointment when we had to pause to complete other tasks. Most of my students scored over an 80 on their reading comprehension tests, which shows their growth as well. \r\n\r\nThey completed a variety of projects selected from a choice board. Many students chose to illustrate their rendition of the inside and outside of the factory. Others made character cards, created tests, and wrote about what they would do if they inherited the factory. They also presented their projects to their classmates. We are currently reading the sequel, The Glass Elevator, and it is an added treat to have two great books in one collection!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness!
