It allows them to explore real-world examples, analyze current events, and collaborate in ways that weren't possible before. The speaker and remote video adapter make digital learning more engaging, builds confidence, and think more critically about how government and citizenship work in everyday life. Realtime video become a important part of daily instruction.\r\n\r\nThe wireless speaker makes kids excited about learning because it turns the classroom into a more dynamic, engaging environment. When students hear music, audio clips, podcasts, speeches, or sound effects through a quality speaker, lessons feel more alive. It makes activities interactive—whether it's playing a historical speech during civics, a debate recording, a review game soundtrack, or background music during group work.\r\n\r\nWith the wireless video tool, we can move it anywhere, use it for any subject, and quickly play video without being tied to a computer or cords. We enjoy stories, body breaks, brain storms, and songs together on our rug every day, and are building a wonderful classroom community with enough space for everyone to fit comfortably. \r\n\r\nWe wouldn't have such a warm, functional, accessible, or equitable space without your generosity. \r\n\r\nRoom 103 loves you!","fullyFundedDate":1750123767558,"projectUrl":"project/every-student-deserves-a-seat/9404260/","projectTitle":"Every Student Deserves a Seat","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rawson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9082650"},{"teacherId":9318124,"projectId":9103295,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping us build a richer classroom library. Many of you may be passionate readers yourselves, and I'm excited to share how your donation is making reading come alive for my students, not just as a hobby, but as a powerful tool for thinking, understanding, and connection.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is more than just turning pages—it's about learning how to analyze characters, make inferences, explore themes, and connect stories to real life. The new texts you've helped provide introduce important lessons: empathy, resilience, identity, and cultural awareness. We use these books to practice key literacy skills like predicting, summarizing, and citing evidence, but also to spark deep discussions about the world around us.\r\n\r\nReading time in our classroom is a blend of independent reading, partner discussions, read-alouds, and small group instruction. Students choose books that speak to them personally, and we often pause to reflect, write, or talk about what we are reading. It's not unusual to hear lively conversations about plot twists or character motivations—and that enthusiasm is what every teacher hopes to see.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular has especially connected with the new books, for example, Sunny by Jason Reynolds. He was a reluctant reader, but after finding another book in our class text series in our updated class library, he is completely hooked and looks forward to completing his reading logs each week. He is now reading every day without being prompted, even recommending books to his classmates. Watching him go from avoiding reading to becoming a leader in book talks has been one of the year's highlights.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students are not just learning how to read, they're learning to love reading. Helping students develop a love for reading is a gift that will stay with them for life.","fullyFundedDate":1739156436985,"projectUrl":"project/culturally-responsive-literature-to-impr/9103295/","projectTitle":"Culturally Responsive Literature to Improve Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9318124"},{"teacherId":3199523,"projectId":9207689,"letterContent":"When my students first encountered the Little Free Library, they were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately gathered around, eager to open the door and see what books were waiting for them. Several students remarked on how special it felt to have a library of their own right outside the classroom, and some even began planning which books they could contribute from home.\r\n\r\nThe ELA teacher has planned \"book talk circle.\" Students will select books from the Little Free Library, read excerpts, and present short recommendations to their peers. This activity encouraged them not only to engage with new texts, but also to practice speaking and listening skills in a supportive setting. It was inspiring to see students recommending books across different genres and levels, fostering a true sense of community around reading.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are connecting this enthusiasm for reading to our current civics unit on community engagement. Students will write reflections on the role of access to books in building stronger communities. Some of these reflections will be placed in the Little Free Library, allowing future readers to see how our class has thought about the connection between literacy and civic life.","fullyFundedDate":1746698848948,"projectUrl":"project/community-building-and-literacy/9207689/","projectTitle":"Community Building and Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. DiSandro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3199523"},{"teacherId":4468169,"projectId":9065677,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students learned so much closely dissecting sheep's eyes and frogs. The best was seeing some of my most reluctant students dive right in and stay fascinated for entire classes. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the sheep's eyes, they were surprised by the amount of fat and muscle surrounding them. They wanted to know if their own eyes looked like sheep's eyes. I saw them carefully pull apart and examine all parts to not only learn more about sheep, but themselves.\r\n\r\nThe project piqued students' curiosities about the science field. Importantly, it made class fun and engaging. It also sparked kids conversations about the medical field and science research. I continue to capitalize on the positive momentum gained through this project to build a strong classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1738017197021,"projectUrl":"project/hooking-in-sharp-students-with-daring-di/9065677/","projectTitle":"Hooking in Sharp Students with Daring Dissections","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Y","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4468169"},{"teacherId":9318124,"projectId":9029177,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now features a document camera and projector—tools that have completely transformed the way we learn and interact as a class.\r\n\r\nWhile many people use technology at home for entertainment or convenience, in our classroom, it's become a powerful tool for visual learning, collaboration, and confidence-building. With the document camera and projector, I can now model lessons in real time, walk students through writing strategies step-by-step, and instantly share student work to highlight creative thinking or problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is the ability to see their work projected for the class as strong peer exemplars. Whether we're editing a piece of writing together or brainstorming ideas, students are more engaged and take pride in their efforts. It also allows for peer teaching. Students can now take turns presenting their work using the projector and explaining their thought process to the class. This has sparked a new level of participation and mutual respect among classmates.\r\n\r\nThe use of these technologies helped our students with disabilities and multilingual learners collaborate with their peers to make the learning process more meaningful to them. Our multilingual learners had the opportunity to present their work to their peers, which boosted their confidence and helped them make connections with their peers. \r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom.
