This would not have been possible without your generous donation to my classroom.\r\n\r\nMy students no longer worry about uncharged computers or weak audio on their tests. Despite being greatly used by kids, our headphones have lasted. This is thanks the quality of the supplies you helped me provide. Not a single pair is broken nor wire frayed.\r\n\r\nIn addition the Mice have been a wonderful addition to our old computer touchscreens not being functional. Students find the track pass difficult but the mice have saved the day. Their eyes lit up with excitement when they first saw the materials—many of them couldn't wait to start building right away. They looked forward to every Thursday and Friday because of Science. \r\n\r\nOne of our most exciting classroom projects so far involved our Natural Disasters unit. Students were split into groups: one group was tasked with designing and building sturdy homes, while the other group had to recreate what those homes might look like after being hit by a natural disaster such as an earthquake, tornado, or flood. This project sparked so many thoughtful conversations about structure, safety, and real-world challenges. It also encouraged creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.","fullyFundedDate":1755757980716,"projectUrl":"project/magna-tiles-today-architects-tomorrow/9578797/","projectTitle":"Magna-Tiles Today, Architects Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mongales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10047804_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755823780354","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10047804"},{"teacherId":10047804,"projectId":9578836,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, we've been making the most of our new classroom resources every single day in our first grade class! \r\n\r\nThe dry erase markers have become an essential part of our daily math instruction. My students especially love using the math ten frame to explore numbers—they get so excited to manipulate and visualize math in a hands-on way. It's amazing to see their confidence and understanding grow with each lesson.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were thrilled—especially about the books! They dove right in, and we've already read every single one. One favorite moment was when we read The Day the Crayons Quit together. The students were so engaged that we turned it into a writing activity, where they each wrote their own sentences about how the crayons felt and what they might say next. Their creativity really shined through!\r\n\r\nAs we continue our learning journey, we're building on these lessons with more number sense activities and story-based writing. Next up, we'll be creating our own \"crayon\" characters and writing short narratives—bringing together both literacy and social-emotional learning in a fun and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible.My first grade classroom is extremely grateful for this donation. My students are from a very low income community and background. These items allowed them see many examples of other small and large communities around the globe. They were able to see the similarities and differences between those communities and their own.\r\n\r\nFor my students, the most exciting part of having the headphones was getting to somewhat experience the different cultures opposed to just seeing and reading about them. They got to hear people from communities like their own interact and go about their lives. I was happy to help them see and hear many places they will probably never get to actually visit.","fullyFundedDate":1745173991081,"projectUrl":"project/communicating-with-each-other-and-the-wo/9251732/","projectTitle":"Communicating With Each Other and the World!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Busch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9995254"},{"teacherId":9268949,"projectId":8969534,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, my students' classroom experience has been transformed in ways that are already making a meaningful impact. The new headphones have become an essential tool for focused, personalized learning. With clear, static-free sound, students can now fully engage with audiobooks, language programs, and online learning platforms without the frustration of broken or crackling equipment. For many students, this has boosted their comprehension and focus, especially during independent work time. It's amazing to see how something as simple as reliable headphones can help students feel more confident and capable.\r\n\r\nThe new whiteboards have also been a game-changer! With clean, smooth surfaces and no chipped edges, students are excited to write, solve problems, and collaborate with one another. I've noticed more students eager to participate during lessons, proudly holding up their boards to share their work. It's inspiring to see their confidence grow as they engage more actively in their learning.\r\n\r\nFinally, the Amulet and Percy Jackson graphic novels have quickly become classroom favorites. Even my most reluctant readers are eagerly diving into these adventure-filled stories. One student, who once avoided independent reading, now asks to borrow the graphic novels to read at home. Seeing that spark of excitement and newfound love for books has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project.\r\n\r\nThank you for making all of this possible. Your support has brought so much joy and growth to my students, and I am deeply grateful for your kindness and belief in their potential.","fullyFundedDate":1734618873906,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-tools-for-bright-minds/8969534/","projectTitle":"Fresh Tools for Bright Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Norrish","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9268949_orig.jpg?crop=1243,1243,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718995914315","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9268949"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60189","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":503,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":23,"percentLatinx":63,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.5,"schoolId":60189,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Frank Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Frank Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tempe-elementary-school-district-3/frank-elementary-school/60189"}
