These new texts have opened the door to rich reading experiences for my students, giving them opportunities to practice important skills like making inferences, identifying theme, and analyzing characters' decisions. Having access to high-interest books also allows us to work on building stamina, vocabulary, and fluency—skills that are essential for developing lifelong readers.\r\nReading in our classroom is now a joyful and highly anticipated part of the day. During independent reading time, students eagerly browse our shelves and settle into their books, while small groups use shared texts to practice comprehension strategies together. We also incorporate these new books into read-alouds and partner reading, creating opportunities for discussion and collaboration. The variety of genres has been especially helpful in showing students that there truly is a book out there for everyone.\r\nIt has been wonderful to see students connect personally with the books you helped provide. One student who was hesitant to read at the beginning of the year has now discovered a love for graphic novels and proudly shares what she's reading with her peers. Another student, who is working on building confidence in reading, has gravitated toward nonfiction texts about animals and is excited to share facts he learns with the class. These moments remind me daily how powerful books can be in sparking curiosity, building confidence, and nurturing a love for reading.\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nTatum Rosello","fullyFundedDate":1746786459874,"projectUrl":"project/help-fill-our-first-year-classroom-libra/9195288/","projectTitle":"Help Fill Our First-Year Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rosello","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9897136_orig.jpg?crop=895,895,x34,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736976767970","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9897136"},{"teacherId":6607763,"projectId":8323355,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for donating to this project for my kindergarten students.
