Your kindness and support have made a meaningful difference in the learning experiences of our students. Matching and memory games help strengthen cognitive skills such as memory, concentration, and attention to detail. As students search for matching pairs and remember the locations of different cards, they are actively exercising their minds. Activities like these encourage students to think carefully, recognize patterns, and identify similarities and differences, all of which are important skills that support learning in every subject.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Our students must remember previous turns, plan their next moves, and adjust their strategies. These moments of thinking and decision-making help build both short-term and long-term memory while also improving their ability to focus and stay engaged in a task. These games you provided also support students' physical development. Handling cards and game pieces helps students improve their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These skills are essential for everyday classroom tasks such as \r\nwriting, drawing, cutting, and using school materials. \r\n\r\nMatching and memory games can easily be adapted to meet the needs of different students and learning levels. Younger students can practice basic recognition skills, while older students can challenge themselves with more complex versions of the game. This versatility allows all students to participate and benefit, making the games a valuable resource for our classroom. As they interact with one another, they learn how to follow rules, express themselves respectfully, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. These social and emotional skills are incredibly important and help students build positive relationships with their peers.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your generosity and for supporting our students. Your gift is truly appreciated, and it will continue to make a positive impact on our school library.","fullyFundedDate":1768871537796,"projectUrl":"project/match-to-learn-learn-to-shine/9849904/","projectTitle":"Match to Learn, Learn to Shine","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ventura","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2330175_orig.jpg?crop=1364,1364,x203,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659202803342","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2330175"},{"teacherId":5761858,"projectId":9517014,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness. One favorite project has been our storytelling circle, where students work in small groups to create and perform short stories using the puppets. Students practice sequencing, dialogue, and expressive language while bringing their characters to life. The puppets have also been especially helpful during role-play scenarios, allowing students to explore feelings, problem-solving, and kindness in a safe and engaging way.\r\n\r\nWhen the puppets were revealed, the room immediately filled with excitement and smiles. Students gasped, clapped, and eagerly asked if they could try them on. Many of them instantly began giving the puppets names and voices. For some quieter students, the puppets became an instant confidence booster—they were more willing to speak and participate once they had a puppet \"helping\" them.\r\n\r\nNext, students will use the puppets to retell familiar stories and then move on to writing their own original puppet scripts. We will connect this work to our writing standards by focusing on beginning, middle, and end, as well as character traits and dialogue. Eventually, students will perform their puppet shows for classmates, building presentation skills, collaboration, and confidence. Thanks to the donors, these puppets will continue to be a meaningful learning tool throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1760907499152,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-alive-with-puppets/9791898/","projectTitle":"Literacy Alive with Puppets","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ventura","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2330175_orig.jpg?crop=1364,1364,x203,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659202803342","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2330175"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_128336","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":362,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":48.4,"schoolId":128336,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Forest Station Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Forest Station Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/forest-station-elementary-school/128336"}
