They immediately noticed the comfortable seating and began treating the space like a special place to settle in with a book. The reading corner has also become useful during small group instruction and partner discussions because students have a comfortable area where they can talk about texts, reflect, and share ideas.\r\n\r\nThe biggest impact has been the sense of ownership students have developed around the space. They see it as their classroom library and a place designed specifically for them. Moving forward, we will continue using the Literacy Café during independent reading, writing conferences, small groups, and literacy projects.
