In a digital classroom where we typically meet through screens, these special mailings have brought our lessons — and our relationships — to life. Students are thrilled to receive personalized letters, postcards, and small surprises that reinforce classroom goals and celebrate their hard work.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped bridge the gap between home and school, giving students a tangible reminder that they are seen, valued, and part of a real classroom community. Several students have proudly shared their mail with classmates! The excitement of checking the mailbox has become a weekly highlight that keeps them engaged and connected.\r\n\r\nYour kindness didn't just fund materials — it sparked smiles, built confidence, and reminded each child that even in a virtual world, meaningful connection can be felt across any distance. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making learning so personal, joyful, and memorable.","fullyFundedDate":1741369472037,"projectUrl":"project/special-delivery-snail-mail-smiles-for/8932220/","projectTitle":"Special Delivery: Snail Mail Smiles for Virtual Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bush","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8305229_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1643599704746","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8305229"},{"teacherId":8169348,"projectId":9324226,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for brightening the lives of my young virtual students. I've been able to send birthday cards and \"thinking of you\" notes to my virtual students during both joyful and difficult times. \r\n\r\nThese small gestures have made a big impact. One student who was going through a tough loss told me they'd never had a teacher reach out like that, and it made them feel seen. Another said the card they received made them feel a connection they'd never experienced in online school before. In a virtual setting, it's easy for students to feel isolated, but your support has helped me bridge that gap and show students that someone genuinely cares. \r\n\r\nYour kindness has helped create moments of encouragement, comfort, and joy that goes far beyond the traditional classroom. This has been especially helpful to my Senior students who have to finish a month ahead of their peers in time for graduation. In Florida, students need 2 foreign language credits if they want to attend a public university. Thanks to the note guides, they are completing oral exams and modules on pace, and have already expanded their vocabulary and understanding of grammar. This one small change to their study habits is already making an impact on their performance in my class and will allow each one of them to complete all their work to receive this much needed credit. \r\n\r\nThe pièce de résistance: they are all sharing what they enjoy learning in the lessons and say it to me in French.
