I set a few of the boxed instruments under my classroom tree this holiday season. I then made a big deal about how someone was so thoughtful enough to buy instruments for our music room. The students were starting to get excited. I then called them over and I picked one student to open one of the boxes to see what was inside. I snapped a few photos of their reaction. Needless to say, after looking at the reveal pictures, they were over the moon!\r\n\r\nThese students love to play instruments and love to make music! My kindergartners are excited to start playing them in a couple of weeks. My first graders were able to start practicing on them after our lesson about high and low. I took a few pictures of them playing them. These instruments visibly look like a staircase (stair steps) and as you go up the staircase the pitch gets higher! This will help give the students a visual to this concept.
