Several students immediately began naming letters, and pointing out the colors. Having their own boards made them feel special and capable, and that sense of ownership has already changed the way they approach our phonics block.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are focusing on building simple CVC words and strengthening letter–sound connections. The kits have made this work more concrete. Students use the red vowel tiles to find the middle sound, then slide the blue consonants into place to build words like map, sit, and top. One child proudly said, \"The red one helps me hear the middle sound!\" These hands-on moments are helping students blend and segment with growing confidence.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through UFLI, students will gradually move into more complex word-building, applying these routines during small groups and centers each day. Thanks to your support, my students have engaging, durable tools that make phonics clear, joyful, and accessible, one colorful tile at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1756616759194,"projectUrl":"project/stick-with-reading-magnetic-phonics-for/9438697/","projectTitle":"Stick With Reading: Magnetic Phonics for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. David","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7114441_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751158379953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7114441"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58024","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":548,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"15.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":62.1,"schoolId":58024,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Flemingsburg Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Flemingsburg Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/fleming-county-school-district/flemingsburg-elementary-school/58024"}
