The metal and wood blanks give them multiple opportunities to experiment, and correct mistakes as they explore architecture, engineering, and design and makes it real and meaningful.\r\nA few students who are usually hesitant to take risks have especially connected with this project. They're trying new techniques and discovering that their creativity grows through practice. The light box has been an amazing tool for our classroom. It has enhanced learning and helped to focus their visual motor skills on the tasks. For many of my students traditional materials can be too small, or do not provide tactile opportunities to increase visual and fine motor skills. With the light box we have been able to isolate the tasks as well as enhance it for them. I have observed them make self-corrections as well as be able to engage with materials in a more meaningful and enjoyable way. \r\n\r\nThe cleaning supplies have been critical in keeping the materials safe to ensure all of the students are able to utilize them.
