We do breathing techniques to help us refocus as well as get some wiggles out when necessary. This feature is nice because I can call on every student at random before it will reset. This makes sure that I am asking questions to every student and not just the ones who always raise their hand! \r\nIt has been a major game changer in my classroom. Students whose name gets drawn get to draw a prize out of our ticket box. \r\n\r\nBecause we have tickets left in the jar at the end of the school year, we hold a class auction where students get to use their unspent tickets to bid against each other for the remaining prizes. It is always such a fun day and I often see gifts of generosity between the students. For example; when one student didn't have enough tickets to buy the prize they hoped for, several students pooled their remaining tickets and bought the item for their classmate. It really helps me teach them how matter cycles throughout ecosystems while learning about photosynthesis.\r\n\r\nWe just planted some of the flower seeds (carnations, pansies, and zinnias) we received and they are already beginning to sprout.
