In Spring 2027, the children will use the candler, feed, and troughs to carefully care for and monitor new life from inside the egg to its first steps. These materials allow our youngest scholars to develop a profound sense of stewardship and a deep, poetic love for all living things. Meanwhile, our older children use the colored pencils to meticulously illustrate the animals of the continents. \r\nDr. Maria Montessori believed that children are spontaneous observers who need physical material upon which they can work. By providing these exact tools, you have given 30 young scholars a tangible way to take pride in their work and document their unique place in our world. My 3–6 year old students were overjoyed to learn that our garden project was funded! We have already received our garden fence and seeds, which are currently resting in our prepared environment as symbols of the beauty to come. \r\nCurrently, we are using the sub-zero days to study the 'life of plants' through indoor lessons, preparing our young learners for the physical work of planting and tending. The arrival of these materials has shifted our classroom energy from quiet observation to eager anticipation. \r\nThese resources will be more than gardening tools; they will provide the seeds of childlike wonder and curiosity that will bloom alongside our cosmos and wildflowers this spring.
